Sorry About Your Daughter — Press Release Genre: Alternative Rock / Post-Hardcore Origin: Washington, D.C., United States Years Active: 1992–1997; Reunion 2019–present (EU/US tour Summer 2026) Emerging from the early-'90s alt-rock and post-hardcore wave in Washington, D.C., Sorry About Your Daughter built their reputation through relentless touring, visceral songwriting, and roots in the city's independent scene. Their debut, Aquarium Center (1994), was independently released before being reissued in Germany by Edel/Marlboro Music. The follow-up, Face (1996), expanded their reach and earned international exposure on MTV Europe and MuchMusic. Fan favorites emerged from both albums, including "You Gave Up" from Aquarium Center and "Scapegoat" from Face. SAYD became known for college circuit shows, European club tours, and raw underground gigs across North America. Their intense live performances made them a standout in the mid-'90s underground scene. After a farewell in 1997, they reunited in 2019 for a sold-out show at The Soundry in Columbia, MD. With renewed energy, they're currently writing new material and touring in Summer 2026.
